Today, the BDA submitted a comment letter to the MSRB in response to a request for comment on draft amendments to Rule G-37 on political contributions made by dealers and prohibitions on municipal securities business and to extend the rule to cover municipal advisors. Specifically, our comments focused on:
- Generally supporting the MSRB’s efforts in creating a level playing field between dealers and municipal advisors.
- Request that the MSRB consider revising the provisions in the draft amendment to prevent duplicative maintenance of records and disclosures.
- Request that the MSRB increase the de minimis contribution limits for dealers and municipal advisors with respect to officials for whom they are entitled to vote from $250 to $350.
