Tomorrow we expect President Biden will launch the debate over a comprehensive federal infrastructure initiative. In our latest blog post, guest columnist George Friedlander asks and answers the question “If the next major federal initiative is for infrastructure, how do we get it right?”

He examines three issues central to the initiative’s success, project selection, the extent of funding subsidy relative to the total cost of any given project, and the relationship between funding needs and financing needs.
